India’s only Vaginismus Healing Program that addresses both the
mind and body.
Vaginismus symptoms
Are you experiencing pain, discomfort or even a burning sensation when attempting vaginal penetration?
Women describe the feeling like this…
“There’s a “wall” down there, blocking everything”
“It hurt so much it felt like it would tear”
“I was aroused, but so scared”
What is vaginismus?
Not surprising that this then leads to avoiding all sexual activity, and pushing away partners in anticipation of sexual activity. If this sounds like your experience, then it could be vaginismus.
Vaginismus is the involuntary tightening of the pelvic floor. Basically it is your body’s automatic reaction to the fear of penetration whether by a finger, a tampon, a menstrual cup, a penis, or even a gynecological exam.
If you think you may have vaginismus, then we’re here to help. Proactive For Her’s award-winning 8-week online Vaginismus Healing Program, already in its 4th year , is led and curated by Dr. Taru Jindal, a gynaecologist who herself overcame vaginismus after suffering for 7 years . The program’s proven 4-step formula is both inclusive and trauma-informed and has already transformed the lives of over 430+ women!

FAQs
What is vaginismus?
Vaginismus is when you have difficulty in allowing vaginal penetration of a penis, finger, menstrual cup or even a gynecological exam even though you may have a great desire to do so. It’s the body’s protective response that causes the vaginal entrance to tightly close.
How do I know if I have vaginismus?
What makes vaginismus difficult to diagnose is the shame and taboo surrounding any discussion around it. It is also not taught in medical schools, making it difficult for most doctors to help. But it is helpful if you pay attention to your body and symptoms during an attempt at penetration. Some of the signs and symptoms that point towards vaginismus can be:
- Feeling like there is a “wall” down there.
- Vaginal penetration is painful including during sexual intercourse, tampon insertion or a medical examination.
- If you have any kind of fear and/or anxiety around penetration which makes you push the partner away in anticipation of any kind of sexual activity and/or pain or makes you avoid it altogether.
- Feeling like the vaginal opening is too small for anything to penetrate.
Can vaginismus be cured?
So, the good thing is that vaginismus is 100% curable. However, as vaginismus is shrouded in taboo, and not taught in medical schools, most medical professionals are unable to help here. Treating vaginismus requires a holistic and committed approach. One that addresses both the physical as well as the emotional.
How to treat vaginismus?
Because of the complex nature of vaginismus, the best treatment for vaginismus addresses both the psychological and the physical. It requires a combination of mental health therapy, pelvic floor relaxation, vaginal training and intimacy therapy by trauma-informed vaginismus experts.
How to treat vaginismus at home?
Treating vaginismus at home is possible, but with the right person with experience and knowledge guiding you towards healing. Vaginismus is considered a psychological condition, which is why treatment usually begins with a mental health expert. Evidence states that a holistic approach which includes addressing the physical symptoms alongside mental health counselling is the most successful. Our Online Vaginismus Program at Proactive For Her is extremely effective and you have the ease of getting treatment for vaginismus from home.
Why should I choose Proactive For Her for my treatment?
Great question! Proactive For Her’s Vaginismus Healing Program has successfully healed over 360 women (with this number increasing every month with every batch) from vaginismus and transformed their lives! We think that speaks volumes about the effectiveness of the program. To be more specific about the award-winning, 4-step transformation program though: We are India’s only integrated (psychological and physical) treatment program. So what does that mean? Our program includes sessions with a mental health therapist, a pelvic health physiotherapist, a pleasure coach, dilator therapy and sessions with partners for those that are part of the program.
