You’ve recently given birth

After giving birth, it’s essential to think about your recovery holistically: physically, mentally and hormonally. Services to help you after this include:

What to expect at Proactive For Her?
During your visit to Proactive For Her, our doctors will address your questions and concerns and then only give you the right advice to make informed decisions. Our care is always confidential and judgement-free. 

- Our doctors will listen carefully to your pregnancy birthing experience to guide you through the recovery process both emotionally and physically. 
- Providing advice on postpartum exercise and physical activity, taking into consideration your individual recovery and specific health concerns.
- You will be evaluated to identify any postpartum complications, such as infections, blood pressure issues, or other medical concerns.
- Our doctors will assess your mental health and emotional well-being to ensure that you are receiving all the support you need. 
 

You’re having trouble breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is not easy simply because it’s natural. It often takes time for both the mother and child to understand what works best. Helping you in this part of your journey may include: 
- Counselling 
- Check for physical concerns based on examination 
- Lactation consultant's sessions 
- Nutritionist's support, if applicable 

What to expect from Proactive For Her?
During your consultation at Proactive For Her, our Lactation Consultant will hear your experiences with breastfeeding, issues you might be facing and then give you the right guidance.

During your visit to Proactive For Her:
- Our doctor will get background information about your pregnancy, delivery experience, and how the baby has been doing 
- Our doctor will gauge your emotional wellbeing as well as examine your baby for an oral assessment
- Based on your needs, together you and the lactation consultant will create a feeding and support plan and advice on resources

 

You have lower back pain

Many women experience back pain due to changes in posture, weakened abdominal muscles, and the strain placed on the back during pregnancy and labour. Helping you in this part of your journey may include: 
- Counselling
- Check for vitamin deficiencies 
- Nutritionist's support for lifestyle management 
- Postnatal Physiotherapy & Yoga sessions for posture correction

What to expect from Proactive For Her?
During your consultation with our physiotherapist, they will listen to your birthing experience, any postural and pain issues you experienced during pregnancy as well as get an understanding of your birthing experience.
- Your doctor will conduct an examination of your pelvic floor to identify specific areas of pain, muscle tightness, joint mobility, and any postural abnormalities.
- You will receive instruction on proper body mechanics, lifting techniques, and postural habits may be given to prevent exacerbation of symptoms.
- Regular follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor progress, address any concerns, and modify the treatment plan as needed.
 

You experience low libido

It’s completely normal to have your libido drop for the first 6-9 months after the birth of your baby. However, when you feel ready, there are ways to kickstart your libido. Guiding you through this may include:
- Counseling sessions
- Monitoring your hormonal health
- Therapy sessions 
- Pleasure coaching, either alone or with a partner

- Counselling and/or pleasure coaching may be recommended to help you and your partner work through the new changes

You want advice on birth control

Thinking about when to start birth control may be on your mind now. It may seem strange to think you can get pregnant soon after birth, but it is possible. Guiding you through this process and providing options may include: 
- Conversations on different available options, and what might be best for you based on medical history, test results and preferences
- Blood tests for further insight on recommended options
